In most cases, zinc plating is completed via submerging metal components into a container of zinc solution. This can be done by placing components on the bottom of a barrel, known as barrel plating, or by hanging components on a rack that is lowered into the zinc solution. This latter method is known as rack plating. The longer components are submerged in the zinc solution, the thicker the plating will be.
